Speaking Topic: Creating the Emotional Heartbeat of a Story

This workshop concentrates on how to show character emotion to engage the readers' feelings as they experience the story. Writers will learn how to incorporate the senses in a creative way to invoke realism and make readers care about the characters. Emphasis will include showing rather than telling, deep POV, powerful dialogue, and the power of word choice. Jennifer will discuss the stages of relationship development, action vs reaction, internal and external conflict, and sensual vs sexual tension. (For intermediate writers who are beyond the basics and who want to carry their skills to the next level.)
